I'm happy with my Velbon Neo Carmagne 840
which extends to 70" ; collapses to 27" ; weighs 7.2 lbs and has a geared center column.
Its leg diameter is equivalent to about a Gitzo 4-series,
so I'm looking for something more compact for traveling (2 or 3-series diameter legs)
but haven't found anything with a geared center column.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
