new photos from Venice
« on: March 18, 2009, 12:11:57 am »

For the guys here who've been waiting for them, I finally finished posting the photos from the Venice portion of my recent trip to Venice & Switzerland, and you can see them here:
http://www.stanford.edu/~melkor/lisa_pictu...w_pictures.html

I tried to put what I thought were the better ones first, so you can stop when you've had enough.

The photos from Switzerland will probably be posted sometime in the next month.

Suggestions welcome...

I particularly like the monochrome Rialto view. I spotted the thumbnail of the Piazza San Marco shot and wondered if you'd gone to Pisa as well!

Please make your web site easier to use - there are some lovely pictures there, but the "forward / back" mechanism is really tedious.

Sorry for the tediousness of the navigation.  I wrote the web site from scratch a few years ago with nothing more than a text editor and an "HTML for beginners" book, no fancy software, so I had to keep it simple.  Someday I should upgrade it, but I've been too busy taking and processing the photos so there's no time left over for web site enhancement...

Lovely work, as usual, Lisa. And for your photos I'm even willing to use the "back" button.

Your detailed historical notes are often quite charming: "The composer Antonio Vivaldi had something to do with this building at some point..."

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to Switzerland.

Thanks for sharing! Your photos are always a treat... and they remind me that I must absolutely return to Venice asap. My last trip was in 2003.
