Hasselblad Ixpress v9sC

Hello Gabriel,

superb Camera you have - I´ve got some Hasselblads too.

I don´t have any experience with Ixpress backs - but my
brother has a Phase One P25 for Hasselblad - its not square,
a 4:3 ratio (I´m not that sure) but the Hasselblad one would
be about the same 6x4.5 cm´s. Quality is AWESOME!!! Better
than film!

Btw - there may be some "bargains" buying a Hasselblad digital
back - you´ll get a new 500-camera for free (at least here in Germany) -
I think a 503CW or so.

hope I could help.

best regards

Andreas

I have a Hasselblad 500 C/M with a complete set of magnificent Zeiss lenses. I have been shooting with Velvia 50 or 100F and scanning it with the Nikon Coolscan 8000. Results are great, however I would like to get digital output faster. So I am thinking of investing in the Hasselblad Ixpress V96C, which has image preview (as opposed to the one you reviewed). The problem will be crop factor and I wonder if also quality will be an issue. My questions are:

- What do you think of the quality of that digital back?
- What is the crop factor it produces?

Many thanks in advance for any answer you can provide me with concerning those issues.

Crop Factor for V96C with Hassel 503CW (and all the others Hassels that have motordrives and can use the digital back) is 1.5X.

Apart of the crop factor, other thing that made me sad about it is to see the comparision between EOS 1DS MKII and V96C somewere.

Altrought Hassel has more color fidelity and a bit more quality, Canon has a noise reduction software that makes your eyes bump out of your face. Looks way better than the Hassel images!

And of course, V96C has to be attached to a hard drive to work!!!
