I took no exception to what you wrote.  I do think it's just the nature of the internet of blogs in general.  They come across as harsh when that wasn't the intent.

Still, I agree it's very difficult to post quickly and from the heart without someone taking offense or getting upset.

We have had a few instances lately where some people, probably out of just boredom, have made a mess of things and kept a lot of people away.

I am sure just writing this will bring them out again.

That's a shame because sharing a photo that is pretty or one you are proud of is a nice thing.

I agree completly, James. It's difficult to post from the heart without causing offense. I tend to think when reviewing someone else's photographs that I have to turn myself into a diplomat, otherwise I'm likely to cause offense.

Nice image of the car but you need to slap The Lounge on their fingers. There is a distinct difference in luminosity between the main background and the area closest to the car, showing a weird halo around some parts of it =)

Henrik

This is a beautiful landscape shot. I like the clear composition with just a few elements. And the sunlight on the right side!
What I think is... it would be stronger without the clouds. They bring in a pittoresque level that contradicts the clarity.

And while you're at it ask them to re-do the FOCUS logo it's just straight on on an angled front. Compare with the FORD badge over it. Great lighting and colour from you though. Thanks for posting, hopefully not perceived as being negative but sometimes another set of eyes see things you may have missed.

Here's one from yesterday on our lighting workshop in Florida.  This has not been worked, just processed as-shot and sized for web. P45+ on Mamiya with 80mm lens. Click for larger version:

Thanks.
This kind of work is more my personal taste/preference than the clean fashion/beauty work that I normally do, however I do both with fun and passion, but my personal preference is always a bit more moody.

Well, I like the first one!  We tend to read from left to right, but the lighting in the plants on the lower right catches my eye, which then wanders over to the ramp and up to the house.  A little more detail might be nice, but including that without noise, etc. with mostly available light wouldn't be easy.  The second one seems unbalanced to me, and I don't think the brown picnic table/ chairs in what's otherwise mostly monochromatic adds anything.  The third one like like an OOF 'accidental' image.  The fourth one I think would have been better if you changed perspective to include more of the house and less of the undeveloped yard.  Also the OOF railing at the bottom doesn't add anything.

My $0.02

Mike.
