LR2 Wish for Longer segments
« on: August 02, 2008, 04:19:56 pm »

It would be nice to have the option of having the segments grouped in 30 to 60 minute videos. I like to fire up a video on my Apple tv and sit back but having to fire up a new video every few minutes is a PITA.

Chris,

As you suggested, I converted the LR 2 tutorial from mov to m4v files so that they will play on my Apple TV. I have a MacPro 8-core w/12GB RAM and it took almost 34 hours of processing time to convert the segments using QT Pro.

Since the computers can play m4v files, it would be nice to offer them in that format so that the many Apple TV users don't have to go through this intensive conversion process one at a time.

Now that I have them converted, I would be glad to upload them to you, if you're interested, to save you the conversion time.

Cheers.

Actually 34 hours for 7.5 hours of video is pretty good. It is taking me 3+ times as long to render out the upcoming Standard Definition version. I started it on Friday at 2pm and have only completed 26 out of the 40 videos...

Thanks for the offer Bud but we will leave those who want TV versions to render out their own. Our bandwidth is maxed out as it is without two more versions for customers to download!

Chris,

Wise decision. I was beginning to worry that you might be trying for a Guinness record for number of versions available of the same video.
