JUST RELEASED: Topaz Gigapixel 7
« on: January 18, 2024, 01:52:12 pm »

Gigapixel 7 is now available.

Topaz says,

This update features a massive amount of changes under the hood, including an updated AI engine which should be faster and compatible with newer GPUs compared to 6.3.3, a UI refresh across the entire app, and updates to the Standard and High Fidelity models.

My example shows a 35mm film scan being upsized 4X and 6X, using auto-pilot settings only.

(I cannot add further details due to LL forum "Database Error"................... See the Nikon forum instead!)

I just updated from 6.3.3 and now Gigapixel won't open at all.  Buyer beware.

John, are you on Windows? I am hearing this for Windows users (my M1, M2 and Intel Macs had no issue).

Users have offered solutions. I have to attach the info in a screenshot because if you're typing anything but the Queen's raw English, this forum has errors...

Got an email from Topaz support.  The following fixed the problem for me:

Delete the Topaz Gigapixel AI folder from the default installation path - C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Gigapixel AI\
Open the app Registry Editor on your machine and delete the Topaz Gigapixel AI folder from the registry - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Topaz Labs LLC\\Topaz Gigapixel AI
After you have done this, download a fresh installer for Gigapixel AI v7 from our Topaz Labs Download Page.

Hot off the presses! Gigapixel 7.1.2 was just released.

Topaz says, "This release of Gigapixel increases the stability and usability of the application across the board. We have added a camera profile for the Sony ILCE-9M3, and also fixed an issue where certain DNGs would cause a crash. Lastly, we updated the EULA for Gigapixel to bring it in-line with our other apps for commercial applications.

"This update for Gigapixel also brings a number of fixes related to rendering statuses, zoom, crop, display, and memory issues. We fixed an issue with TGA files sometimes not being able to open due to a mis-match in format."

Screenshots show upscaling a previously reduced-in-size iPhone pano 4X, upscaling a low-res logo image 4X and a quick full-autopilot 4X upscale of great-grandma.
