But sometimes it's not worth designing/compromising for the few percent that have issues, if it compromises things unnacceptably for the other 95%. Though you should always bear them in mind as they may be relevent to your site.
If you are aiming at business people then it's unlikely they will have an issue. If you are aiming at family in the Australian outback, then lean sites may be much more important.
