How to automate copyright notice?
« on: April 28, 2008, 01:32:57 am »

Hello all,

I am batch processing images with fixed dimensions on the long side. I was wondering how I could add a basic text copyright notice to all of these images. I have a simple file with a text layer which includes the copyright symbol and my web address. I select and drag this to the open images and place it where I want it to go. Normally, bottom left corner.

Is there a way to automate this? As I said the width (in landscapes) or longer dimension is always fixed, but the height varies.

Kind regards,

Ross Tinsley

So long as you have a fixed width you could create an action to add canvas size to the bottom, select it, fill it with black then add your text. I haven't built this action in  awhile so there is probably an even simpler way but this is the general idea.

take a look at Russell Brown's web site,  he has a quicktime tutorial that may just do what you want.

it is about two thirds down the page, and it is titled digital watermark branding.

there is  an action you can download as well.

the quicktime movie may be found here
