Growing up in California ( I don't plan to fully grow up) I never got tired of Big Sur. If you're coming from the north, I'd suggest spending at least a few hours at Point Lobos in Monterey. (Easy to find on Google). You'll see where many of Edward Weston's photos came from. Go south, and just past the State Park is Pfeiffer Beach. (

A bit pricey, and worth it, in a addtition to a great craft store that is an institution. May want lunch or dinner at the River Inn at big sur. It's fun, and often on the weekends has live music. (I was a a bluegrass festival there a couple weeks ago.) Can get chilly and foggy, so bring Canada clothes -- and the fog can make for some great photos.
Enjoy.

I'm going to spend 4 days in the Big Sur in 2 weeks and am looking for suggestions on prime locations to photograph with suggested timing. My information is the inland hiking trails are closed because of fire hazard so I may be confined to coastal locations. Thanks in advance.
