Photo shop doesn't ask "Make file compatible" whe
« on: April 10, 2008, 09:12:36 am »

When I'd save a psd file in CS2/CS3 it would ask me "Make file compatible" and I do have this set to "ask me" in preferences. I'm not sure when this happened, but now, when I save anything, this message doesn't pop up, even though its supposed to. Any ideas as to what's going on here?

You might want to reset warnings (in the preferences) or/and to toggle from Ask to Never and then back to Ask.

That setting is only relevant for multi-layer files; if you say yes PS will generate a merged preview image that it won't otherwise. There's no reason to do so with a single-layer file, and PS won't even ask the question.

Thanks Jonathan, I think that's it. I just started using ACR 4.3.1 and I don't recall having any layers in the file I saved. Every file I saved before ACR 4.3.1 had layers, I'm just accustomed to seeing  "Make file compatible" when I hit save as.
