Prints: did you sell (for) less this year ?
« Reply #20 on: January 04, 2008, 01:50:31 am »

The 2007 decline that I noticed was only in print sales. Stock licensing stayed at about the same level. I note that for both Kirk and Tim, the source of print sales was not the web, but respectively shows and books. From what I've read here, Alain Briot sells also mostly at shows (at least for his larger pieces, correct me if I am wrong), yet he lowered his prices.

Although it saves time for the photographer, I am not so sure having a nice e-commerce system for ordering is that important for customers. One of the reasons someone purchases your print is to get something from you, and I think it's equally nice for them to be able to speak with you over the phone, or have an email exchange.
