Page layout of essays when printing from LL

Some essays, in particular Alain Briot's Reflections on Photography series, I like to print and read more casually.  On the couch for instance with a glass of wine, a very long CD, and not in front of my monitor.

The current web layout has a navigation and ad column which is definitely useful when online, but takes up page space when printing any essay or article.  It also squishes the font size and column width for the real content of interest, the essay.

So here are two suggestions for the website designers:
1 -for any of the Column or Essay pages, have a "print" link which opens the current editorial content in  a new window (a popup would be OK), which omits the leftside nav bar.  This would allow the content to be printed full page width, and we could save it to a text file for future reading if we preferred using the everyday Save As command.

2 - much lower priority: have a configuration option in our profiles that will result in only the newest unread postings show when we go to a new thread, and not all of the postings.

Thanks!
Andy
