canon eos-1d Mark III recall
« on: November 25, 2007, 10:41:55 am »

I'm not too happy about the fact that I might soon have to send my camera back to Canon. My serial number falls in the area of their recall numbers. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Are you having the AF issues?  If you were, and they weren't fixing the issues, would you be more upset?

yep.  I don't do sports, or even use AI Servo that often, but I figure without the fix my resale value will take a hit.

Having said that, I knew from Galbraith when I bought it that there was a problem, so went in expecting to have to have it fixed (never figured it was fixable in firmware).  I live in Toronto, so hand delivering to Canon isn't much of a problem.  Bit I don't know when they will be set up to do the repairs.

Why don't you call Canon Canada's support line? Canon USA is starting to take cameras as of 12/3...
