Opening image in Bridge CS3/Mac problem

Whenever I double-click an image in Bridge, Mac preview opens the image, not Photoshop.

First the image opens in Preview. I close the image, double-click again, and only then it opens in Photoshop.

By the way, Photoshop had been open in the background the whole time.

This started after the Bridge upgrade.

How can I correct this? I was looking into Bridge preferences, but couldn't find anything.

I'm suspecting that the File Type Associations in Bridge CS3 somehow got changed so that Preview is used to open the file type you are selecting rather than Photoshop CS3.  Your system file associations are probably OK since Preview knows how to open the file correctly.  Look under Bridge CS3 -> Preferences -> File Type Associations in the menu bar to see if that is the problem.  If that is the case, you can change them all back to the default or just fix the one for the file type that you are trying to open.

I found Preview only mentioned in two places, to open

1. Portable Network Graphics

2. Postscript

After a few days of intrusion, Preview stopped opening my jpegs.

I have no idea what it was, and why it went away again.

This happens to me when I try to open a screen shot with CS3.  I have to go up to the file menu and choose 'Open With' and then pick Photoshop.
