Just wondering.  I'm seriously considering it.

Thanks,

Why?  Aperture's DNG support is only "fair."  And I have a tough time figuring out what you really actually GET from using DNG over the manufacturer's RAW formats.

I think if you've consumed the DNG Kool-Aid® you may be better off with Lightroom.

Yes, I too had some DNG issues with Aperture when just playing around with it to do a review. I'm a Lightroom guy, as you'd expect, it handles DNG's just fine (especially with 1.1).

As for DNG Kool-Aid, there's a lot the format offers. I don't want to deal with sidecar files for one. I like the embedded JPEG (updated for current rendering), the files are smaller and its a far better container to hold all the various bits and pieces than the proprietary Raws. Thomas is working on updating the spec and if all goes well, we'll see some really useful functionality in the format. Think PDF for Raws.

I some cases, as Panasonic LX-2, a 50% reduction in file size. And embedded metadata.

I use DNG frequently with my Pentax K10D PEF RAW files. It decreases the size significantly. I sometimes still keep some PEF RAW files around from time to time but usually only as a backup. I have not found any issues yet.
