LOL, I know what you mean, the video card is quite old, but has done well. I do see though that other systems display the photos I take more clearly.
What is a good up to date dual head card?
Again thanks for your continued help over this one

Sorry, Ard, I think the world of Matrox and would probably have stayed with them on my last machine, but went with Nvidia Quadro FX-3400 work station board which is also now a bit long in the tooth :-) ( I am actually trying to think of a good reason why....but I really can't think of one)
If the G-550 works for you, no need to look any further ( I was just thinking out loud! I am sorry about!) reading it now, it was quite inappropriate, so please accept my apology.
I still have a Matrox Parhelia 128 AGP!!! damn it was revolutionary back then! 3 screens on one card!!! and it worked, but it was quite slow and I don't play any games (lack of time I suppose! or just not enough time!).
I still think that Matrox, delivers some of the best quality 2D cards, but they have become very pricy for what they deliver.
Don;t toss it, alternatively you could get another card or similar PCI card, (given that the G-550 is AGP) which you could pair up and you would be able to calibrate both of your monitors. that is one solution and I don;t think it should set you back too much.
What mainboard are you using, or what computer? the more details the better!
I hope this helps!
Henrik
PS:just having a look there is not that much choice in PCI cards these days
