Is it me or is lightroom the best thing since sliced bread. I just ran a few P21 files through it and it's really good, it makes capture one seem old and clunky in comparisson. Is this commonn knowledge that somehow I have missed out on? I prefer the conversions too. The files seem a little creamier than those processed with capture one which by comparrison seem very digital and the amount of control is mind blowing. Does anyone want to tell me I'm wrong before I spend out and get the non trial version?

Lightroom is great. And I’m sure has a long and bright future. But, my eyes see DPP as the better RAW converter for Canon 1D Mark II files.

I used to use DPP for my cannon files and found it was a lot better quality wise than adobe camera raw. It is great software DPP though it is a little clunky.

I really like Lightroom's GUI and edit options, but I do think DPP does a better job converting the 1Ds2's RAW files.  I'm definitely getting a different WB in LR than DPP.  LR interprets the "as shot" white balance about 300K cooler than DPP.  I could go on a couple rants about DPP, but I still put up with it...

Are Lightroom and DPP better than Aperture for RAW development?  I have Design Premier Suite CS3 and just got Aperture to organize and develop my RAW input.  Mistake?  Should I have gotten DPP or Lightroom?
