Tripod help

I was wondering the same thing (have a 20 year old Gitzo for a 4x5, want something light and new). I emailed Michael and he recommended exactly this!

But man, EXPENSIVE! The BH-55 looks awesome. But $400? Wow.

The BH-55 does look good, but what about a camera plate? They don't seem to make one for the Olympus E-510, only the E-500. Does anyone know anything about this? Are the two cameras perhaps the same thickness?

Wayne, could you please provide an update on your experience with the Induro tripod over the past six months?  I am trying to decide between Induro and Gitzo.

In the field I use a Gitzo 1325 CF with a Kirk BH-1 ballhead.

I have been shopping for almost this same configuration for the last couple of days, namely a Gitzo 1325 CF with an Arca-Swiss B-1 ballhead.

And I can't find either one ...

Has each of these models been discontinued? The closest thing I can find to an Arca-Swiss B-1 is a B-2 (which I am assuming is the next generation and that the B-1 is discontinued). Is this correct?

And at both B&H and Adorama I can't seem to find a set of Gitzo 1325 CF legs among their inventory. Are these too discontinued?

Yes, they've been replaced by the new carbon 6x tripod series.
