The negative spaces in 'floating' and 'still morning' would perfectly support a commercial/stock application.  Hope you make some money from these great shots.

Thanks Tim, Eric, and to-mas.

So, I hope I can make some money on these images as well. But the tough part is separating out the 'fine art' from the 'stock'. I've had interest in many of my images for stock purposes, but I've typically declined the offer for what I feel are my best images. Although the terms allow me to continue selling them as fine art, I think that once you start selling an image as stock, then you devalue the image as fine art.

Here's another image from the trip with a similar style of negative space. Believe it or not, the wild colors are basically real. They've been enhanced a bit naturally by the film due to a long exposure and reciprocity effect. However, I actually toned it down a bit from the raw film during the scan. Crazy!

Wow, some really nice images here!

OK, I took this one last weekend. This is at Castle Hot Springs in Arizona. This used to be in the early and mid 1900's 'the' place for the rich and famous to vacation. During WWII, it was leased by the government as a place for injured soldiers to recuperate. JFK himself stayed here for a few weeks.

Well, fast forward to present day, not much left of the place. A couple fires over the years wiped the original hotel and other buildings. I met the caretaker of the property while shooting some pics, and she mentioned that a Boy Scout troop was going up the peak overlooking the property to replace the American flag. This flag is from the caretaker's son who is currently serving in Afghanistan, so it is very special to her. I offered to go up with the Boy Scouts and photograph the event and make some prints for her.

This is one of the shots:

This is looking down over Castle Hot Springs from the top of the peak:
As you can see, getting the 'correct' angle for a shot is difficult at best. Just a few boulders at the top of the peak and a few hundred feet drop off in most directions!

Well Andy - I shall have to look through that lot again and prepare one if you mean that you want to see another from the series.

Here's one from last year on the Skyline whatever it was in the Appalachian Range of the US.

It's totally different of course - and it is the first time that I pushed the parameters of decency quite so much. I like it, but then I have a background of messing with oil paints. I understand that some photographers find the liberties taken somewhat offensive.

They're your liberties, take as many as you like! Especially with results like this. Sometimes these things reveal as much (if not more) about you the artist as much as you the technician, and you the artist will nearly always be more interesting to me at least.
Cheers,
Bob.

Thank you Lars!

Work in progress, hence I hesitate to show this, but I thought the scence alone to be fantastic and worth showing.

Travenagh Bay, where I live is close to the golf stream and this causes the approaching spectecular weather fronts at times. This picture was taken approx. 20 minutes before sunset, 12 degrees celsius, and suddenly the wind changed to -N- and within minutes sleet and hail came down.

The sun was to the left and 4/5 hidden behind a thick bank of clouds, so the approaching weatherfront enabled the split colors by acting like a prism.

I so wish I could afford a one on one training course with Alain Briot.
