I like "The Art of Photographing Nature" by Art Wolfe and Martha Hill. A brief review is:

"An elegant how-to book, featuring over 250 photographs by the well known nature photographer Art Wolfe. For people who want to go beyond the mechanics of picture taking, it explains many of the more subtle aspects of nature photography."

"Mountain Light" by Galen Rowell is good and less traditional, in my opinion.

I don't claim anywhere near the quality of what some of the other forum regulars are capable of, but I am improving. NE Ohio scenery is a challenge. Having a non-photo career is a challenge. Family health issues are a challenge. Nevertheless, I get out and make the best of it.

The images are a bit small for a real critique; I don't believe in nitpicking flaws that are more likely JPEG artifacts or resizing issues than problems with the original image. I did offer one bit of (IMO) constructive criticism that I thought was applicable.

Johathan, I sometimes hear "put up or shut up" which implies to me "show and tell" or words to the effect that if I don't show, then I have nothing credible to say, so shut up. Or words to the effect that "I asked a question, and I don't want to hear anything but the answer."

So, I don't know I really know if this is a "discussion forum" or not.

Well I think still looking ugly..But is no a fight..Just the I think the Jonathan have a much better work...But like I say about me,,I'm not a photographer. If you see what I say..
I can write in Spanish,,I make my leaving of it..My wife is a
Physical Therapy, No a photographer..So two in the house no one can really say is a photographer.

About those pic's from Australia, they are not ready yet. All photos from those country will have name..
Now go to India see what I did with some photos..Go to Czech Rep. You can see Black and White there..But remember they are only there, scan and maybe little work and see how is look

My wife tell me not to put it untill is no ready but, I didn't know how to creat a website so I put some pic's and see if it work, I guess is working.

About the photos from USA(Boston) I think is great I love the art, But thanks again I guess you like some of my pic's, could you keep pointing them I learn more from you. Beleaveme I do,,No playing around I like your information. I tell you before.

Thank you. The landscape shot a few posts up is actually a stitch of 9 1Ds frames; I'm getting ready to print a 24x72 or similarly ridiculously large version for an upcoming exhibition. You can pick out individual trees on the mountain peak:

Interestng stuff. I usually try to look at the site of a person giving answers (or asking questions) to see where they are coming from but being able to see so many in this thread is a joy. Not to mention, convenient.

Jonathan, thank you for your permission to comment. Mostly I was interested in why you thought what you did. "I like the first and last one" just didn't tell me (and perhaps Joja) much more than you liked them. Nothing about what you liked about them, what might, if anything might have been better. Just a general "blessing."

I realize the comments were not intended for me, but I just hoped to get something for free.

to me, it seems to explain things very well in terms of what is happening behind the scenes but also how to use the settings (and in what order), which ones you should be using and which ones are usually going to pretty good anyway.
