Thanks, degrub - the new structure, to replace the old marina control building, is taking forever to construct. It had better be on some sort of fixed price contract, or the club will probably go tits up before too long. On the other hand, with a massive waiting list for membership and an about £ 25,000 hit to join, I expect they will survive.

She's seen a better day, lovely lady.

She was; unfortunately, she sank at her moorings and had to be "levitated" by divers. I'm told the owner vanished to avoid the bills. However, this might just be fishy ~~tail~~ tale.

However there is justice in this world - or more probably in the next.

Sadly, but the beginning of horrors to come:

I didn't notice the "vulture" at first but it adds to this dramatic shot. The sky is beautiful.
Well done, Rob.

Thanks, francois, it’s a sad little series.

She’d weathered several winters moored out in the bay, but I guess that like all of us, it took that last damned straw to sink her. She lay in diving mode for several months until the powers that be decided to pay for frogmen and flotation balloons to raise her, after which her rapid destruction on dry land was inevitable.

This kind of photographic gig is where I would have enjoyed the company of those unobtainium-built Q cameras more than of the silly iPhone!
