My solvent 64" (s80600) is outstanding. My only worries as a small one man shop are can I afford to fix it if and when it breaks down.
Epson service is now $175 an hour plus the $250 dispatch fee with no other options.

paper handling was decent on the p20000, this is pretty exciting-- love the bigger ink bags-- should make it cheaper per ml without all that extra plastic.  If they've iterated their capping system and cleaning programs to the point of being able to really keep the nozzles clean this could be a killer machine.  Never really agreed with their decision to go with 5 total black inks before, OGV is much more interesting to me.  Now if they make a 10570 (44" version) this should put that awful sounding 9570 (or whatever it's called, can't keep these models straight-- the newest one with the same large 2-row head) to bed.  I was seriously considering getting a 64' HP Z9+ Pro for a minute, but this would make me seriously think twice if I ever do end up needing that extra 4" over my 60" Canons (ipf9400, never letting those go if I can help it)

Current P20000 owner from new. Mine's been pretty great, tbh. All heads cleaned up well after long pandemic shut down.
But - interested in this - can someone explain what it means, and why they specify high gloss?

Mode built directly into the print driver

(I do smaller ultra-gloss prints on 8550 - wonderful for that. Pigment printers don't do ultra-gloss well imho)

The Carbon Black mode (Black enhance overcoat) I believe is now available on the P700, P900, P5370, P7570 and P9570 and the new (Not yet confirmed P20570)version.  Someone please chime in if you have heard otherwise. Have also heard they are dropping the usage of carbon black mode in the place of black enhance overcoat also not confirmed.   No special ink overcoat means no gloss optimizer but it does have the light light black overcoat. It works ok on my new P5370 but does not come close to my ET-8550 dye on white film prints. For special hi-gloss prints they are the best.

Epson Premium Ultra High Glossy also works
If you can find the discontinued Ilford Smooth High Gloss it is the best of the bunch.
A great looking product, no idea why they stopped making it.

This is OT at this point, but I recently converted a 9900 to use all dye-based ink to do the same high gloss work--

Honestly Ilford probably stopped making it because it was around the same time as all the large format printers started using pigment based inks which really dull the crap out of the surface...

The cool thing about converting the 9900 is that I can use a much bigger ink-set-- in this case I'm doing CcMmYKk + Red.  I was given this printer from another lab after the yellow channel started failing, so i'm using Ergosoft to remap all the channels to the remaining good 8 channels (the direct companion to yellow also died shortly after, which doesn't bode well for long term on this head, but for now I get to play around and make some beautiful weirdness)
