Syncing ACR and PS images
« on: January 21, 2024, 02:00:36 pm »

Hi All.

I want to sync the images from ACR and PS. When I went just now to PS for help it said the previous method was no longer available on the latest version. So I'm stuck !

BTW- I'm on a iMac M1 running all the latest versions.

Appreciate any help.

Hi Andrew.
I want an image to look the same (or as close as possible) from ACR to PS.
I know you're the master of this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a raw you're processing in Adobe Camera Raw?
Whatever you see in Adobe Camera Raw should match what you see after processing there in Photoshop proper, depending on the color settings. Are the two not matching visually?

Yes it's in Raw in ACR.
But the two are not matching visually . ACR is consistently lighter.

First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Performance). Any better?

If turning OFF the GPU works, it's a GPU bug, and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it. This is why disabling GPU is an option as more and more functionality moves to the GPU in newer versions of many Adobe products. Disable third-party graphics accelerators. Third-party GPU overclocking utilities and haxies aren't supported.

If the GPU and display profile isn't causing the problem, see:

Thank you Andrew.
Will follow your suggestions.
You are a big reason I go to LuLa.

Also check your PS color settings as well as the Workflow Options in Adobe Camera Raw (looks like a web link at the bottom of the dialog). Ideally, the two are in sync (for example, ProPhoto RGB for RGB Working Space and the same for Adobe Camera Raw).
