Print yield from full 350ml cart set Epson 7890
« on: March 25, 2023, 12:55:21 pm »

Would anyone have a ballpark estimate of how many 24"x36" can be printed from a full 350ml cart set on a 7890? (canvas matte) I haven't printed enough or logged the info enough to get that...
.....
(the  verification here is quite silly...why not 20 questions? 30? A test to see if you can find a calculator? An IQ test? I'd love to discuss the logic behind this. I'll take it over there.)

I'd suggest checking out an ink cost calculator or check on your printer (see links).  The colours don't last the same amount of time, so it's less about how long any cartridge will last, but how much ink (overall) you use for a given area,

Going to let you do the math, best way to learn.
A good average is 1.5ml of ink per 1 sq. ft. of print.
Divide 1.5 into your ink cart size and you have the sq. footage that a cart will print.
Divide by 6 for your answer.(your 24x36" print is 6 sq. ft.)

In many years of running my Epson roll printers, I use a general "rule of thumb" of between 1-2 ml ink per square foot of output.

My 9900 keeps track of the area printed and ink consumed for the last ten prints and when I've checked it, lighter prints take less ink and darker prints take more, so I'd say dgberg's good average is pretty close.

When I need to account for the ink on a particular project, I tend to error on the 2 ml figure since there are occasional cleanings that must be done and other maintenance that tends to consume the ink.

I've given up trying to track the actual "average" per square foot since each print is different.
