Epson 3880 Print matt black good / No photo black

I have a Epson 3880, ( donated ) after load the ink. I never seen a printer work with one type of black Matte ( no problems ) when switch to Photo Black the nozzle check is blank ( nothing ) switch back to Matte Black and is perfect. Any ideas?

I've had that happen (different model).  Start by running a clean to see if that fixes it or improves it.

Welcome to the club. :'(. Use my 3880 for matte only for 5yrs. Switch valve clogged.

If you don’t use the switch it will freeze from dried ink. Might be able to take it apart and clean it.
Here at Compas Micro they have a diagram where you can find the part number. Then you need to call them to see if it’s in stock. They are the most reliable but you can also get lucky on eBay or Alibaba.
