Fog and mist
« on: December 06, 2020, 08:42:50 pm »

Kumano Nachi Taisha, a Shinto shrine near Katsuura, Wakayama.

One out of around twenty frames taken from the same spot - there was so much low cloud blowing around it was hard to get a shot that didn't obscure the pagoda.

Sony A7r3 with 24-70mm f/2.8 GM at 70mm, f/10, 1s, ISO 50.

Wonderful composition and shot.
I don’t know pagodas. Do they change the tiling pattern as it reaches the ridge line on the corners ?

No idea. Looks like moire from downsizing to 1024x1280 - it's not there in the full image.

Beautiful scene and beautiful photo. And it seems you appreciate the r3 / 24-70mm combo as much as I do!

Yep - very versatile combo. Getting a bit old, though - I have a sharp copy, but went through 4 copies to get there, and the latest sensors really show its limits (this goes for other 24-70s out there as well).

I'm just waiting for a 24-70 or 24-105 (don't care if f/2.8 or f/4 - I have other lenses when I need shallow DOF) that can do justice to a 61MP sensor, the way the 12-24/2.8 and prime lenses do.
