Yes. I am. And the opinions still apply. The view from here is unobstructed and the characteristics listed still apply, too.

I agree with you that often an outsider's view can be clearer and less biased because they don't have a dog in the fight. But your beliefs are pretty strong. So I don't think you can give a neutral recommendation or analysis in many cases that effect Americans.
In my case, I don't have enough understanding of Canadian politics or culture to make too many recommendations except for the area of dual language. There are many in America who push for that here. And I think that it's devisive and separates citizens into different groups.
