So it appears that Smartmatic, the voting software company at the center of the voting fraud controversy along with Dominion Systems, has had enough, and has sent cease and desist letters to Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN, to stop spreading the conspiracy theories involving its software and voter fraud. Presumably the networks will either ignore the letters or just stop mentioning Smartmatic by name.

Well, after traveling for a couple of weeks and getting a lot of (modern up to date and relevant to the 21st century) work done, it's nice to see nothing has changed here.

Not so nice to see my governor has shut down the restaurant and gym industry.  However, a number of restaurants and gyms have decided to ignore the orders in PA, and I cant blame them.  Give into a irresponcible edict and surely go under, or fight it and have a .. ummm ... fighting chance.  If I was in that position, I'd pick the latter; I'd rather go down fighting.

But anyway, happy to rejoin the conversation, until I head to Chicago for a 4 day shoot and Texas for a 7 day project next month.  Cant wait to "risk it for the brisket!"

Yeah, go to the gym, eat inside restaurants, don't wear a mask; what can possibly go wrong?

Sounds rough, really, it does, I can only hope that I do not end up like that.  But anyway, can you give me the stats on the percentage of people who can expect to experience this broken down by age and health please so I can determine my own personal risk factor?

I mean those same results could come from a neighborhood car drive that went awry, but that would not keep the vast majority from going for a drive given the stats on who can expect this.

Until you give me those stats, I'll simply ignore this like all the other panic pron.

I cannot. Nor can I tell you how many people who get Covid-19 don't fully recover and have long term effects (look up long haulers). I can't tell you exactly how many Americans have died either because while we're now up to 300,000 dead, those are confirmed deaths, where testing was done. What I can tell you is, you or I may get this virus. We may recover easily and fully, we may die, we may not and suffer. With or without limbs. This isn't like the seasonal flu by a long shot. I can tell you that Covid-19 is now one of the top causes of death in this country where cancer and heart disease, two conditions that can be somewhat controllable, differ greatly from a very infectious virus that no one can get IF they follow some very simple recommendations. Going to a gym, a restaurant, gathering with others? That's not how you go about avoiding Covid-19.
So Joe, eat out. Got to the gym. Sing at church if you must. If you get sick, if you lose a limb, if you have long term effects or it's a mild case and you recover, don't give that infectious disease to others while you dine out, work out or otherwise do what you want to do with no regard for other humans.

I know you will. And if you get Covid-19, you'll get what you deserve but what about those you may infect in the process? You can go on record here, telling us you don't give a crap about anyone but yourself. That's what Trump would say and do BTW.
That wouldn't come as a shock.

Just saw the announcement that Barr is stepping down. Wonder if Trump will try to replace him this late in the administration. I don't care one way or the other about Barr, or any of them for that matter, but the turnover in the people who report to Trump is stupefying. That guy can't keep staff. Is he like that in his businesses?

FYI, I am not religious, an atheist actually, and I do not sing.  Why is it that every liberal thinks that those of us who disagree with these lockdowns are religious?  My God, how prejudice of you Andrew.

Yes, people are dying of C-19, along with depression and addiction and spousal abuse and child abuse and suicide and so many other things under the bus that you, and so many on the left, simply ignore in your one point analysis of the situation.  And when this is all over, people will continue to die of these things due to lingering side effects of the lockdowns, which do not need to be mandatory.  We went from 0 to 100 overnight on these things after ignoring everything in between, and not because they work.  It is hysteria, nothing more, and a self feed back loop between Dems and the press.

There have been plenty of studies showing no correlation to lockdowns and stopping the decease.  Everyone is getting walloped regardless of policy.  But there has been a variety of Dems pushing the lockdowns who have been caught ignoring them.  My favorite, was a Dem in Chicago keeping his restaurant open in secret after pushing for the lockdowns.  Does he have a death wish?  Or is it he knows these are just political theatre?

If you, or anyone else feels unsafe, you have the complete control of living in your house for a year in this modern age.  I know because I have seen my neighbor exactly 4 times since this broke out, and that was only when he stepped out of his front door to pick up his groceries he ordered on Amazon.  His lights remain on often through the night and I have wondered many times, "is he dead in there?"  Thankfully his lights are always out by morning and I can forego the curiosity of trying to smell for rotting flesh, for now at least.

I will be living my life from this point on.  If I catch it, then I catch it.  If I die from it, then so be it.  I have looked at the stats and do not feel the risk warrant staying locked up, but if I pick the short stick, then I had a good run.  I have long ago come to terms wit mortality, and, although I do not want to die tomorrow, I dont want to avoid it altogether, just preferably until I am older then 80 but less than 100.

PS, the economic shift coming from this will be major.  If you look at the data from the labor department, Red states are getting close to being recovered, whereas Blue states (heavy lockdowns) are still deep in recession.  I felt back in the summer that most could survive one lockdown, but two would destroy states.  With so many tech companies leaving CA along with a support economy being built up in TX, outside of silicon valley, TX is where it will be at.  CA and NY (my market) look to be Detroits in the long term (although I have somewhat higher hopes of NY then CA).  I am visiting TX mostly to investigate business opportunities.  To ignore this as a business person just shows you're not very good at business.

PSS & FYI, just looked it up, you are 1 in 366 chance of getting into a car accident.  If you get into a car accident, you have a 1 in 103 chance of dying.

Rep. Mitchell explaining why he has decided to leave the GOP due to them not behaving according to Republican and American values.

Glad to see that some Republicans have the balls to call it how it is.

Interestingly he is saying exactly what the “lefties” have been saying for months. Could it be that they were saying it because it was true and not because they are lefties?

I hope it makes some folks here do a bit of introspection about the danger of unconditional support. Mitchell is indeed having to resign because of them. They knew who Trump was and their support made Trump’s actions possible.

Since Mitchell pretty much represents the essence of the Republican party we now clearly see how unconditional support to Trump is killing the party. And a weak GOP is going to benefit who? The lefties... Those guilty here will know who they are.

This is amazing example of fear driven fullfilling prophecy. The lies of Trump create fear, fear generates unconditional support for Trump above core American and Republican values, the death of values kills the party supposed to embody these values, leaving an open filed to the left. Self-fulfilling.

Cheers,
Bernard

People are dying of lots of things Joe. But 300K have died of Covid-19 and many didn't have to. That's my point. You can stop the spread of an infectious disease far easier than stopping depression and addiction and spousal abuse and child abuse and suicides! But so many in this country would rather be selfish and political and not do the necessary work or minor sacrifices that would stop the infection in it's tracks.

Which is what I'm doing to not only protect myself and those I live with, but OTHERS. Which is the difference between what I'm doing and what you suggest you will do and what's fine for others (eating out, going to the gym etc).
I suspect no one ever said to you "Thank you for your service Joe". But today, we can all serve each other by not being stupid, selfish and by trying not only to protect ourselves but others. By wearing a mask always outside our home. By not going to gyms. By not eating out. By not going out unless absolutely necessary (buy food, go to doctor).

PS, the economics are pointless if you're dead. Or very, very ill (and have no insurance), or you found out, you infected your 90 year old mother, and she died.

As expected, you're only concerned with yourself, even in an analogy with a car crash. If you don't die in that crash, but it was your fault (cause you were drinking), and killed 5 others, of course, as far as you're concerned; no but woop.
Can you tell us if there's anyone besides yourself you actually care about?  :'(

Joe would like us to believe he's concerned not by himself (difficult to accept  :o ) but the "economic shift". He's not seeing the full picture thanks to this virus.
Funeral homes and those who support them must be doing a banner business. If you make caskets or urns, if you produce body bags or PPEs (or import em from China), if you make hand sanitizer and wipes, face masks, UPS and Fed Ex flying vaccines and shipments from Amazon, Zoom to name a few. No wonder he's OK with people spreading Covid-19 in gyms, Restaurants etc.
What isn't an essential business during a pandemic? Photography.

Since Mitchell pretty much represents the essence of the Republican Party...

Well, I have never heard of the guy, which is not all that surprising. There are 435 representatives, so it’s pretty hard to keep up with them all. He won his first term in 2016 so he wasn’t around very long before quitting. I have no idea what his policy positions were or what his voting record looks like. Probably just party line votes. Tell me, how did you determine he “pretty much represents the essence of the Republican Party”? I’m not even sure I know what the essence of the Republican Party means today, except go along with Trump. The Republicans didn’t even have a platform coming out of the convention.
