Need tips for finding multiple images
« on: December 13, 2006, 12:39:18 am »

I'm using Beta 4.1 on Windows.

I get an email to convert and optimize several images at a time.  It's in the form of a list of image file names.  What I'm doing now is going into the Library mode, and using the filter to find the file name.  It brings up the image in the filmstrip.  I then have to click on it to select it, and click on one star.  I can't press the "1" or it enters a number one in the filter field.  I can't use CTRL-A to select it; I have to click on the thumb in the filmstrip.  I then enter the next image number into the filter to find that one (actually, I'm cutting and pasting into the filter field).   Again select the image in the filmstrip and give it one star.  I  continue until all the images I need have one star.  Then I select all with one star, and that gives me the files I need to process.  I can then add them to a quick collection or a perminent one, and then process them at the same time.

I can't just find the file and then add it to a quick collection.  Actually, I can, but when I find the next file it clears the quick collection, so it's no help.

So what I want is a way to selct multiple files at a time from a list of file names.  What would work great is if the filter supported an "OR" conjunction.  This file name "OR" that one.  It would find both files.

Can anyone suggest a faster way for me to find the files I need to process?  Thanks.
