Last night, I dreamt that some lunatic hacked into one member's account and created ten new threads, some addressed to individual posters, but all with zero replies.
It all seemed very real, but fortunately, when I woke up and opened the forum site, I realized it was just a bad dream.

Our moderator works while you sleep. Must be a time-zone difference ;)

Last night, I dreamt that some lunatic hacked into one member's account and created ten new threads, all about American politics and that person Trump, but all with zero replies and everybody was sticking to photography.

It all seemed very real, but unfortunately, when I woke up and opened the forum site, I realized it had been just a good dream.

It's why I started my thread PLAYPEN: Covid-19 Everything Political.  To allow free and open debate on all sides of the issues.  The playful Moderator added PLAYPEN to the original title and has constantly complained about the thread's "drivel".  But he has allowed the thread to continue despite sharp, thought provoking, stimulating, and sometimes very malodorous drivel, and for that I'm grateful.

I should have changed the title to a variant of lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate, but my Italian isn't up to inserting the translation of "of useful discussion".

"Useful discussion" would be completely wrong. Try
"270 pagine di schifezze inutili"

It doesn't show it, but this was the Slobo post with the Michael Tracey quote.

The quote was complete horseshit. I could demonstrate that, but it would take a while, and it's so obviously complete horseshit that I don't want to waste the time.

That was rather my point.

Note the part of that quote that says “... not obligated to make arguments... inherent rightness/superiority assumed.”  ;)

I'll casually draw attention to the fact that the engineers who made the Apollo program possible were all in their twenties and early thirties.

Don't forget the inherent right to misquote, misrepresent and make up what people you don't agree with say or don't say.

Yes, and Mozart composed his first musical piece at the age of five. What does what you wrote have to do with anything? We are talking about political attitudes, not math skills. And it was 50 years ago, while we are talking about today's generation. But even the reference to the age is superfluous, as it is an inherent trait of the left at any age.

I had to look up Michael Tracey. I am not sure why we should give what he says much weight for any purpose, even if it is an accurate quote, which itself has been brought into doubt.  Is he someone you especially admire?

...even if it is an accurate quote, which itself has been brought into doubt.
And who brought that into doubt, the people that don't like Michael? Any proof of this?
