I don't think the presets you describe work on the P800. What I called custom templates on my posting were actually presets set up just as you describe. When I spoke with the Epson rep, they said the P800 has problems with such custom presets and directed me to the roll paper alternative for 17x22 standard paper size. This, of course, worked but didn't give me the length I wanted.
If you're referring to the Presets Dialog in the previous attachment that's simply an example of how I name the Presets I created and use daily. These Presets refer to the different types of papers I use and the Media Settings for each of those papers on Sheet or Roll. They have nothing to do with Paper Sizes, some of which are included in the driver. Custom Paper Sizes are the ones you create to suit the different image sizes you might be dealing with. Since I print for various photographers I have more Custom Paper Sizes than I wish to count, at least 100 or perhaps more. When I create a Custom Paper Size I do so in a manner that will provide the least wastage. Hence the long list, of which I have included a very small part in the attachment below.
