Just in case; the mosquito is under the left twig.

And its shadow on the shadow of said twig :)

No I didn't find it by myself...

I found it but without the title I wouldn't have noticed it immediately.

It's an interesting overall pattern, and a challenging "Where's Waldo" exercise. I have to admit I didn't see it until more clues were provided. Now that I do, are you sure it's not a midge instead of a mosquito? At the risk of sinking into the arcane, male midges have feathery antenna, as this one seems to; mosquitoes don't.

It's a very striking image even before you find the mosquito.

I agree, the strength is not - in my opinion - in the mosquito!

I originally took it for the ice collar and the needle configuration. By the way thanks all for the feedback. And the reflection ripples on the water. Then decided to bring attention to the "mosquito". Does it work as titled or ? "suggestions for a title. I happen to think titles are very important to viewers hence you will never see anything titled "untitled" because you already have and it doesn't tell the viewer anything about how the image impacted you, the artist.

I think this title works well, because it invites the viewer to look for something that could easily be missed. This image is rich enough so that I think it would work very well also without a title.

Titles that don't work, in my view, are ones that lock the viewer into one reading of the image, when other readings may be valuable as well.

A few of the regular posters here on LuLa are good at providing titles that don't limit. Rob C comes to mind as one.

I personally find it very hard to come up with good titles, so I usually give in to the "utitled" cop out.

I agree. And no doubt many of us spent more time looking at the image than we otherwise would have, trying to find that mosquito. I think that's a good thing.
