Redoing some older images with Dxo PureRAW. This from Death Valley in 2014 shot with Nikon 1 v2 and 70-200 f/4. The ridges were 350 mm distant and reminded me of ocean waves moving away from the boat in a sturdy wind from behind. Can be dicey without an experienced skipper.

The first is is fantastic. The simplicity is very Japanese, it reminds me some painting with those clean lines.

It's VERY nice. It would also look good as pano without the clouds. Only one question, Is it my screen or do you have bluish gray cast? Perhaps it's just an an aesthetic choice? No matter it really look good.

John, I wish I could say it was your monitor but I did put a very light photo filter on. Thank you. I don't know about the pano, although you're right, it does look good. I just liked the the mood of the clouds/sky, keeping with the nautical theme.

I usually have problems with similar scenes, with the high contrast they tend to get too crunchy during my postprocessing, but you handled this quite well.

As much as I like the overall image, I do think the whites of the eyes are unnaturally bright or too white. However, that may be your choice. Still a really fine image.
