Problems opening Topaz AI Sharpener
« on: August 14, 2019, 07:02:53 pm »

I open AI Sharpener directly or as a filter from PS.
It "0pens" the "splash" page and then disappears from the screen
What am I doing wrong? Installing?

If I reinstall it opens OK but only for the first time. If I close and open again the problem reappears

Thanks for any hint

If on a PC make sure your antivirus software is not closing it. With last update to gigapixel (I realize it’s a different software) I had to go back and tell my antivirus software to allow it to run.

Just a shot in the dark.

In the PS configuration settings, what percentage have you reserved for PS itself? Something like 80%? Will the remaining % actually be sufficient for Topaz to run? As an experiment you could lower the % for PS.

Do you apply GPU processing? What are your configuration settings in PS? Latest driver installed?

Jaap.

Thanks for the replies, friends

In the meantime I discovered that the application ran well if I did it "as Administrator".
I'm using a new PC and had many Apps reinstalled.
In this case I located the file, opened Properties-Shortcut-Advanced and checked "Run as Administrator"
This seems to have solved the problem.

I don't know why this is so and had never had it in the old PC (also W10) but anyway...

FWIW   :)
