Ladies and gentlemen, I just published my Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4 in-depth review, the first of a series of reviews that will examine all Hasselblad XCD lenses I own.

Read on to find out what I thought of the Hasselblad XCD 21mm, the widest native medium format lens available on the market!

Vieri,

I would have liked to see some quick urban images, with the lens not strongly closed down. But that's just me.
To get an idea of the real-world angle of view, distortion and look of the dof.
I have a 17mm TS-E Canon which probably would work on the X1D with electronic shutter.

Edmund,

as stated at the beginning of the review, I do landscape only and therefore my photos are landscapes. However, if you look in the review you'll find a set of pictures focussed real close to a subject on the bottom right corner, with center crops of OOF areas at all f stops, that should give you a pretty good idea about how the lens behaves from wide-open on. About angle of view all the picture I posted should do. About distortion, there is a dedicated section in the review, the lens is practically distortion-free.

Best regards,

Vieri,

Thank you for your reply; out of sheer curiosity, I am interested in the feel of the lens in urban environments - it would be enough to point it out the window in a town or even village. If you do this sometime, please post an image.

Edmund, I see. I am sure that with a quick search you'll find plenty of X1D photographs applied to urban environment online to satisfy your curiosity. Best regards,

Vieri,

You are quite right, I found some more 21mm photographs on the web, and although of course these somewhat quickly composed images cannot compare to your review they do have some slight interest for those of us (like me) who own an SWC.
