Shot in Tuscany in November 2017. A special year with dry conditions and every field was ploughed.

Lovely, as always.

I suspect you couldn't take an ugly photo in Tuscany if you tried.  (I could, and have.   :(  )

+1 But Hans is a very good landscape photographer Eric, so he probably could make a really awful photograph if he decided to do it.

But would his built-in sense of artistic ethics let him do it?

Wonderfully simple; simply wonderful! Freeman Patterson used to joke that farmers left one or two trees on their land because they felt guilty about cutting all the trees down to farm the land. But Hans, we all know they were prescient and left them just for us photographers. Like how you positioned tree away from so-called rule of thirds. I think it gives the image a little more tension.
