Spent a week in Pa. (coming back to Toronto just as the big storm hit Buffalo).
One of the highlights of the trip was a tour through Frank Lloyd Wrights houses at Kentuk Knob and Falling Water. Kentuk Knob didn't allow any interior shooting, but I had made a reservation at Falling Water for the "extended" 2 hour tour that allowed interior shots.
Some additional details re: Falling Water - I was on the first tour, 11 people and even being on the first tour, the challange to shoot without people in the frame was significant. No tripods allowed so DOF wasn't what I would have liked, and there just wasn't enought time to precisely align the aperture and shutter speed, so I probably wasted some higher shutter speed that wasn't necessary. It was pretty well f4.0 and shoot away. ISO 1600. Flash was a 550ex with a Gary Fong LightSphere pointed to the ceiling. All interior shots were with a Canon 16-35 L 2.8 and Canon 1D2. At 16mm there was significant barrel distortion, but PS lens correct filter did a good job at dealing with that. The perspective correction tool helped as well. Decent white balance was impossible between the tungsten, flash and daylight.
Processing was with Lightroom 4.0. I shot over 1300 frames that week and LR did a great job of processing the thumbnails (actually a lot faster than Bridge) and I was generally very happy with the RAW conversion. I'm finding it a bit of a challange to re-balance my PS processing workflow with the LR conversions. My standard local contrast enhancement of USM 20-60-0 seems a bit extreme now.
Here are 4 shots. First is Kentuk Knob. C&C welcome.
