I just got an email from Logix USA in Detroit that Epson is increasing prices Nov 1 for inks and media.
From the email: We have been notified by Epson that they will be having a price increase on many items November 1st. Both ink and paper will be affected. Average price increases for inks will be between 5% and 10%. Older printers are more impacted than the newer models. Average price increases for paper will be 5% to 6%. Not all papers will see an increase but many common papers will.
The following Stylus Pro inks will increase about 10%:
Epson 3800/3880, 4800/4880, 4900, 4000/7600/9600, 7800/7880/9800/9880, 7890/9890 and 7900/9900.
The following SureColor P-Series inks will increase about 5%:
Epson P800, P5000, P6000, P7000, P8000, and P9000.
As you can see, printers not in current manufacture (Stylus Pro) are hit the hardest and the price increases for current printers (SureColor) have been minimized.
Price increases on Epson media are more random. Not all are affected and some more than others. Presentation Matte, Enhanced Matte, Single Weight Matte, Double Weight Matte, Semi-Gloss, Gloss, and Premium Luster are on the list of papers getting increases.
All of the price changes for paper are in the 5-6% range. Specialty media like canvas, hot and cold press, metallics, ultrasmooth fine art, and proofing stocks are not seeing price increases at this time.
Just thought you might like a heads up, I'm glad they are not touching canvas and Hot Press!
