pricing for used Fuji GFX50S?
« on: September 27, 2018, 11:35:25 am »

Interesting time for jumping into the GFX system, wondering what the price will be for used GFX 50S now that the GFX50R is priced at $4,500??
Any ideas?

Good question, and furthermore why would anyone choose the older model over the R ?

Same image quality in a smaller form factor.

I would love to have the R but I am on a budget and I need two of them (one for back up).
I am thinking of a S with an adjustable viewfinder and a R for my back up and looser more candid work.
Files should be very similar so, no problem with mixing and matching for assignment work.

Because the s is much nicer to carry around and has much better grip....

Dunno. For the removable EVF and the tilt/swivel adapter? For the vertical tilting LCD for low angle tripod work in the vertical position? For the battery grip with full vertical controls?

Not everyone wants or needs those things, so the R should work for plenty of people, of course.

I think it would be neat to have one of each

Left-eyed people?  'Rangerfinder format' cameras go from awkward to impossible-to-use for that minority.

I am a left eyed shooter and have an Xpro-1. Biggest issue for me is the constant greasy nose print on the LCD.  If you want real awkardness, try a right bolt action rifle as a left eyed shooter.

I have a feeling the used market will see an influx of GFX-50S bodies in preparation for the GFX100 upgrades.

The over supply and very low GFX-R cost will drive the cost down even more.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the X1D cost too. I have a feeling it will plummet.
