Well that's a maintenance notice that I have never heard of, never!  Perhaps someone else has seen it, but I've never seen it here, and I'm in here ever day at some point.  I have read about nuisance warnings that just seem to hang around for ever while the user continues to print without any issues.  There is something you can try and it will not have any negative effect on the printer.  Remove all of the carts and then reinstall them again in the same order that you removed them.  Start at the left end "cyan" and go from there.  This may or may not have any positive results, but it's worth a try I believe.  If you're in doubt, open both ink bay covers and shut down the printer before doing this procedure.  These printers have a mind of their own sometimes, and a procedure of this sort might help clear the issue.  Otherwise just keep on printing and ignore the warning. It will probably disappear eventually.  I've been using Epson Pro Graphic printers for many years and have never needed to replace ink tubes.

One question - Are you using Epson OEM inks or third party inks?

Thanks for your reply Garnick, i will try that this is the second time that this error appear, the fist time was after a accidental headstrike, but that times apears one time only.

this time seems persistent mi nozzle checks prints perfect, but every time i print i get the error.

I know I should not have it, but in the service manual it says the following:

There is some wear on the ink tubes, and I assume that if the print head makes enough passes the flexing of the print tubes might be an issue.  I wasn’t aware epson actually tracked that, so the message is a new one to me. Can’t imagine anyone other than major production houses that run these things around the clock would ever run into this.

As far as the message in the last link, error 4000 detecting all nozzles are clogged twice in a row. (Funny, even epson calls them “clogged” when in fact it really means ink didn’t come out of them, much of the time it actually isn’t a clog).  If you are getting that error message but the printer is function normally, it indicates your AID system has failed.  Unfortunately with the p series printers you can’t totally disable that circuitry, an Auto Nozzle detect is performed at power up or if the machine awakes from sleep after an extended period of time, as well as anytime you switch from PK to MK and back.

If this is the case it seems the printer would be going through a pretty serious cleaning cycle when it is powered on.  If it is “cleaning” and yet all nozzles are printing, the AID system has an issue.  since it isn’t detecting any ink at all based on that error code, either the AID board has failed or a connector has come loose.

thanks Wayne, At last I managed to get rid of the error, I decided to check the Aidboard cable because when the technician came the last time he remove the screen module, because when he clean the head with windex, he take apart all the right side of the printer.

then I cleaned the head with piezo flush and cleaned the wipping blade.

I still have the VM channel clog U.U i have like 5 months with that clog, but I have not noticed no effect to the image quality.

I will look for the technician, (yes in my state, GTO MX, theres only one) and ask him to change the capping station, and the dampers, and see if that make the trick for the clog.

sigh, this happens when I was planning to buy another P9000 to avoid the changes of pk and mk (I change once a week)

It is a counter which is set too low in the factory. A technician with the software for maintenance van easily reset it to a much higher value. Had it on both machines, and had it reset.

Your Epson tech used Windex on your P9000?  The old Epson 9800 was like a Ford pick up truck and you could use windex on the print head.  Not on the newer Epson print heads.

I understand your trepidation now.

I know, í hate this because in Mexico the epson service is worse than ever, here you can't buy an extension of warranty all you have is a year, I was asking epson for made my company a distributor and train me as technician with no luck or any answer. (I have some experience with electronics and small printers), and when I ask a for a better technician they tell me I have to pay the trip and hotel for get on epson expert ( like 300 usd only for get better support).

The problem is to get spare parts, because epson won't sell it to me, my first experience with my only local, and official technician was call him to get a replacement of the machine cutter, he told me that the cutter cost  $250usd and he must install it charging 100usd more.

I didn't buy it, luck for me I have trip to texas like 2 weeks later so I order the cutter from b&h for $126 and change it my self was just one screw.

That's my panorama, I print a lot and I love the quality of the prints, if someone knows some service courses, I'm interested and I can go to USA to take it.
