Storm over Denver Airport, Denver Colorado, 2015
The backstory: This storm briefly shut down the airport. We were stuck waiting to make a connection to the Left Coast for more than two hours. Our flight was the first to board when the storm finally began to move away. I shot this with a little Canon pocket camera through the airplane's window a few seconds after takeoff. It was early in a fairly steep climbout and I instinctively tried to level the horizon as I looked at the storm in the camera's LCD viewfinder. The image was still slightly tilted, so I completed the correction in post. Somehow, a tilted horizon—however true to the actual subject—just didn't look right.
