Oct 9. The Caledon Badlands reopened last month. I went for a walk around there. No access beyond the fence, but it's better than nothing.

They look to me like honey mushrooms. Right colour and right time of year. Usually honey mushrooms have a whitish ring underneath the cap, but some varieties are ringless.

I think these are the ones: Galerina, deadly apparently. https://www.mushroom-appreciation.com/little-brown-mushrooms.html

Thanks Oscar. Some days everything comes together and the subject matter is very exciting, like the image below. The day at Glen Haffey was such a day. I got many great shots, as far I am concerned.

Posting Oct 15, Daily walk from Glen Haffey.

This is just what I was looking for on my own woods walk today. But the leaves in the placid stream were tattered and worn, and the leaves on the trail were thoroughly trampled. So no pix at all. Sigh!   :(

Thanks Eric. If you miss the right time in autumn, it is difficult to find good colour or subjects. Every area and every year it varies. One storm and one cold spell with high winds and it can be all over. I hope to go out tomorrow as I am quite south and there is still some colour and beautiful creeks to explore. Why not try for a misty mornings or with a little frost. May produce some nice images. Sometimes November can produce foggy conditions, as I am sure you know.
