Quality Control of Canon Lenses

Hi, i feel that i have to intervene in your arguments gentlemen.
Recently I have read this at www.photozone.com about Canon  EF 24-70 2.8L
<The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L proved to be a worthy representative of the pro grade lens league ... if you can get a good sample. During the last half year three lenses has seen the lab and all exhibited some kind of optical flaws which is disappointing especially for a lens of this price class.<
A similar statement is made there about Canon EF 70-200 2.8 L IS, where  MTF charts from these Canons compared with the very similars from Nikon lenses are inferior due to bad samples.
So my point is, if these guys are not professinals in what are they doing I don't know where else to look for reliable technical data !
