Amazing colors!
Hekla sure didn't look like that when I was there in 1974.

Eric - Valagjá is part of the Hekla volcanic system but is not the Hekla volcano itself. See attached map. You can see how the fault diagonal proceeds from Hekla to the Valagjá fissure.
