Why do women do it so well and on an entirelyl higher level?
:-(
One of the major components that contributes to her "look" are the Fresson prints she has made at the Fresson atelier in France. Briefly, the Fresson printing process literally goes back generations and the process is only available through their studio.
Add to the uniqueness of the printing process, Metzger's sense of design that is referential to fashion photography being produced in the early decades of the 20th century. That's not to suggest her work is imitative, for me her work is unmatched in her time.
Anyway I certainly love her stuff and I was lucky to meet up with her here in Atlanta at a gallery opening showing her work. Unfortunately walking away with one of her prints was out of my financial league perhaps I should have tried a lay-a-way offer.
