Upsampling in LR print module?
« on: March 11, 2018, 12:20:27 am »

Following a previous discussion in this forum, when I have an image that exceeds 360 ppi, I have been upsampling in PS to 720 ppi for printing to an Epson SC-P7000.  Lately I have been using version 2 of Adobe's "preserve details" upsampling algorithms.

Will LR do the same thing if I select a higher ppi in in the print module than the native image resolution?  Is this really appropriate in LR, or should I just stick to 360 ppi?

Last time I ran tests, LR’s adaptive resampling with capture sharpening was a bit visibility better on print than Photoshop. Faster too! I encourage you to test this on your own however.
