Back at the rocks
« on: April 17, 2024, 12:37:06 am »

This recreation area, Hartman Rocks opened for the summer season last week. I was skiing out there last month and now it's time to ride bikes on the trails and get easy 4x4 access to this unique landscape. I made a quick trip out there this evening and it was pretty nice.

The second really exemplifies distance,..

To me, that is very special. Not often do I get moments as you have captured here.

thanks

Nice, were those taken right off the bike trails?  I'll have to check them out in August (if I survive the Kokopeli trail in May.)

Thanks! Yes I love the near-far types of opportunities I have here. Wide open spaces and all that. :)

Good luck on the Kokopelli! I hear it's beautiful. Still on my list...
This is very close to one of the trails, Alonzo's to be specific. Maybe 30 ft. off trail. I was not here by bike with my big camera kit for these. I don't like to ride with a lot of mm's much. Too much at stake and too heavy!
But I do ride this system from my house often. I had a nice ride out there today in fact.

Here's a mid-ride shot of my brother from there last weekend.

Here's a mid-ride shot of my brother from there last weekend.

My weekend ride, trying to get in shape for the Koko.  Fresh new section of the AZ trail (Temporal Gulch), bench cut, no rock hopping there.
