My website and Texas
« on: August 28, 2017, 08:13:47 pm »

Two LuLa regulars alerted me that my avatar was not showing, so I checked my profile and uploaded the avatar file from my PC (it had previously been a link to my website.)

Wondering why the link hadn't worked, I tried to check my website (http://myrvaagnes.com) but it could not connect. So I posted a service ticket with my host, Arvixe, who have been extremely reliable for ten years.

At their service site is posted this message: "Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are impacted by Hurricane Harvey, which also includes members of our Arvixe support team. As a result of the storm, we are experiencing a disruption in our support services and availability. Thank you for your patience."

So even here in Massachusetts one can be directly affected by Hurricane Harvey. Getting my website back up is certainly not urgent. I do feel terribly sorry about all those whose lives are seriously disrupted by the storm, and I wish them all the best outcome possible.

I have lists of some reliable relief organizations that are accepting donations for recovery work in southern Texas. If you want such a list, drop me a PM or post a reply here.

In spite of the horrendous Texas floods, the fine folks at Arvixe have got my website up and running again.

I hope the rescue and recovery efforts in Texas will go smoothly.
