Yes, it certainly works like an abstract. But that is not everyone's cup of tea. For the public that wants to be "surprised, but with known/expected," you might want to go with something like the first attachment below. For the more adventurous among them, the no. 2 might work as well :)

I really like the top one Slobodan, quite a subtle crop, but none the less a really good improvement.

Just as an aside and if anyone here has any leverage with Sony, I do wish the A7R2 had selective aspect ratio crop modes, as the 3:2 aspect ratio just isn't good enough any more, as I would really prefer to frame in 5:3, 5:4 and square as I choose.
