Ha, I seem to remember that one. It made me wonder whether the building was victim of that window-tax thing...

Art Deco style from the water filtration plant in Toronto. Incredible place. Last is a glimpse of the style and the enormous pumps that run part of the filtration system.

Please tell me you were locationscouting for a client or a calendar, because this one calls for that "lady in a windowframe" somewhere, in this case a model standing on the stairs, long hair and ditto gown blowing in the wind while she stares in to the distance with an indetermined longing look on her face.

Too bad about that graffitti though, an eyesore for sure.

Oscar, I would love to be able to cross my heart and admit to your suggestion; the truth, however, is a bit more prosaic: I was just going out to my favourite restaurant on the edge of town for the long shot, and going back to the parking space after it on another occasion for the closer shot... most of my travelling these days appears to be closely associated with food; but hey, your scenario about girl/dress tempts me to suggest you have the sensibilites for fashion... tried it?

Unfortunately, the relatively heavy colornoisereduction in the Sony jpgs makes a bw conversion nearly impossible. I suppose another good argument for raw capture. For this lowres snap with a failed crop to boot, i probably can get away with it.

"Failed crop?" You ask...

Well, can't cut it in 2:1 or 1:1

Another failure is that the juxtaposition between old and new isn't as pronounced as it could be, but i probably have another chance or two since it "ain't going nowhere" me thinks.

"Just like your photography!" Yeah, i hear you thinking...
